Characters: JJ, Drake.
Rating: PG
Setting: After Like Like Love.
Summary: JJ is feeling embarrassed and very foolish.
Written Using: The dw100 prompt ‘Faint / Feint’.
Disclaimer: I don’t own FAKE, or the characters. They belong to the wonderful Sanami Matoh.
A/N: Double drabble.
“I feel so silly,” JJ admits, his pale face flushing with embarrassment.
“It’s fine,” Drake assures him. “It can happen to anyone.”
“But it shouldn’t happen, not to me! I’m a detective in the SCU, I visit crime scenes where there’s blood everywhere, sometimes dead bodies, or body parts, decomp, all kinds of disgusting things to see and smell, and I’m fine. I can deal with all of that, and then I go and faint on you over something so trivial!”
“Obviously it’s not trivial to you, or you wouldn’t faint,” Drake tells his boyfriend. “I just wish I’d known before, so I could’ve been prepared. I nearly didn’t catch you.”
“Most of the time I’m okay, as long as I don’t look. I mean, it’s not like I’m afraid of the pain, it didn’t hurt, I hardly even felt it. I don’t know why needles bother me so much, they just do.”
“Well, the next time you have a blood test or a vaccination, I’ll be right there and hold your hand. You can look at me the whole time, and if you faint, I promise I’ll do a better job of catching you than I did this time.”
The End
