A/N: Triple drabble.
Dee was persistent, Ryo had to give him that. No matter how often he rebuffed his partner’s seduction attempts, no matter how many times Bikky showed up to dissuade him with more force than Ryo himself could muster, Dee never gave up.
In a way it was flattering, but at the same time, Ryo had no intention of becoming just another of the other man’s flings. He’d heard stories about Dee, how he always seemed to have a new girlfriend or boyfriend, how he never stuck with anyone for long, and he wasn’t about to become another notch on his partner’s bedpost.
Okay, so now there was talk about how Dee hadn’t been seen with someone new in months, but maybe that was because everyone had gotten wise to his games, and nobody would go out with him now. Ryo couldn’t blame them, but…
What if Dee really was serious? What if the only reason he’d played the field for so long was that he simply hadn’t found the right person yet? What if, as Dee kept insisting, Ryo really was everything Dee was looking for in a lover, someone he could be true to?
Ryo wanted to dismiss that thought, because if he started to believe it, he could be opening himself up to a world of hurt. He wasn’t even sure he wanted to act on the feelings he’d repressed for so long. Life would be so much easier if he could go on insisting he was straight, even though he’d known for a long time that was a lie.
Suppose he did believe Dee’s intentions were honourable? Even if Dee was convinced Ryo was the one, that didn’t guarantee they’d work out as a couple. Then again, what if they did? Wasn’t that a chance worth taking?
