Summary: With Torchwood, Tosh had found somewhere to belong.

A/N: Double drabble.
Even now, Tosh wasn’t sure how long she’d spent locked away in that small, bare cell in the UNIT jail, all alone. Months, certainly, but although she’d tried at first to keep track of the passing days, it had proved impossible.
She seldom saw daylight, and the harsh bulb in the ceiling of her cell had never been turned off, or even dimmed. Meals, such as they were, arrived at irregular intervals, and every so often she was herded to the communal showers, sluiced down with tepid water, and handed a clean set of orange overalls, but even when other prisoners were present, they weren’t permitted to talk to each other. Exercise periods had been the same, marched around a bare yard in shackles, all the prisoners shuffling along in a line, silent, eyes down, watching their feet so they didn’t trip.
Days bled together, never changing, with nothing to break the monotony until he’d arrived, Captain Jack Harkness, offering her a way out of the hell she was in. She’d accepted, of course, even though she’d expected to still be a prisoner, but it hadn’t been like that. She’d become part of something amazing, valued, and no longer alone.
